Delta’s Police Violence Suppression Team continues to make an impact in its efforts to combat illegal drugs and gang activity in the community.

Recently, the DPD’s highly skilled team of members used two of their highly skilled four-legged members.

Ziva and Remi (and their handlers, Agents Fiddick and Gahunia) helped the team locate the drugs and guns.

Last weekend, Ziva was deployed in a case where a driver was potentially impaired by drugs. Ziva participated in a drug search of the vehicle, and the driver and vehicle were pulled from the road. Earlier today, Ziva was able to attend the Snowbirds practice in Boundary Bay.

Other highlights from July 14 to 17 included:

• Multiple checks of the program of ineligible bosses, without ejection

• Discussion on Crime Prevention by Environmental Design (CPTED) with a local restaurant regarding their parking lot and the lack of light that could impact the safety of clients and establishment employees.

• Several offenses related to motor vehicles

• Carried out extensive patrols after firing in neighboring jurisdiction

• Arrest for possession of illicit cannabis.
