DSPCA partner with ‘Pups In The Park’

Ireland’s premier ‘Pups in the Park’ in association with Leader Dog Food, today announced the DSPCA as the official charity partner for the event.

This ultimate doggie festival will take place for the first time from April 30th to May 1st in the magnificent setting of Malahide Castle.

Well-known personality and dog lover Rosanna Davison and TV vet Pete Wedderburn, both supporters of the charity’s work, were on hand to support the announcement.

As part of its partnership with the DSPCA, ‘Pups in the Park’ encourages ticket buyers to donate €2 to the charity when booking their ticket.

Commenting on the announcement, Suzanne McGovern of the DSPCA said: “We are delighted to be the official charity partner of the first ‘Pups in the Park’ which should be a really fun and unique day for dogs and owners. . . As part of the event, visitors will have access to leading experts in a variety of different fields. Pets are family and this event is a great way to spoil them and have some fun. The festival’s support is extremely well received and will help the charity continue to raise awareness of the importance of animal welfare.”

Pups in the Park will have something for everyone. Visitors and their pooches can meet experts like famed TV vet Pete Wedderburn or take part in fun activities and compete in free competitions like Dogsercise, the Crave Dog Treats Hay Bale Race, or Canine Pilates.

Alternatively, little furry friends can visit Puppy Academy and Puppy Play Pen for exciting workshops and games as part of their special day. Rob Walsh, the Dogfather, will host classes and share his insights with dog lovers at the event, while attendees can get tips on best practices for canine care from a series of talks from experts during the Chin-Wag discussion phase with Petinsurance.ie.

For pooches just looking to relax and feel the wind in their fur, the off-leash area offers plenty of room to roam freely with other canine companions!

The festival will also feature great food options for humans, including Griolladh and Los Chicanos. Festival-goers can even indulge in some retail therapy in the Exhibitor Zone, where over 30 vendors will showcase the latest and greatest in dog accessories, food, clothing, toys and more!

Rosanna Davison, added, “It is a pleasure to support today’s announcement and I encourage dog lovers to support the event and raise funds for the DSPCA. A unique event, such as ‘Pups in the Park’, is a truly wonderful opportunity for dog lovers and their pooches to create memories and have a great day.”
