Fulton County Adventure Day scheduled for Saturday | News, Sports, Jobs


BROAADALBIN – The Fulton County Outdoor Adventure Day is a day to highlight the outdoor activities in Fulton County. This is a multi-location event where you can find a table on fishing, boating, biking, antiques, and many local artisans with artisanal and farm-fresh produce.

“A craft fair with a touch of the outdoors” is set for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A free outdoor palooza for family fun, sponsored by the Fulton County Board of Supervisors and the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Fulton County Administrative Officer Jon Stead commented on the second year of this annual event. “This is the perfect time for Outdoor Adventure Day. Hikers, kayakers, fishermen and hunters are all gearing up for fall in the Adirondacks. This year there are new surprises, so it will be the perfect place to get ready at the vendors or learn something new about your favorite hobby.

There are several venues to spread the event to showcase what Route 29 and Route 30 Corridor have to offer. Anchors include: Fulton County Visitor Center, Historic Broadablin Hotel, Wildlife Museum, Adirondack Harley Davidson, Frank’s Gun Shop, SchoolHouse Antiques, and the Great Sacandaga Brewing Company.

Mark Kilmer, President / CEO of the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber, said: “Our first such event took place last year and consisted of six partner sites in Vail Mills and Broadalbin and drew hundreds of visitors. , as well as our local residents.

With more and more people willing to travel and engage with others, I’m sure this great fall event will continue to grow and help our tourism economy.

Fulton County Outdoor Adventure Day follows current CDC guidelines. Masks are not mandatory this year but are still encouraged as the guidelines state. Hand sanitizer will be present throughout the event. Thanks to Fulton County Emergency Management for providing hand sanitizer and masks.

Anchor sites will have a passport card for the day. Visitors are encouraged to collect a passport at any anchor site and use it as a guide for the day. Visit all seven sites and drop them off at any location for a chance to win a $ 500 prize, including Anchor Site products and gift cards.

At 11:00 a.m., the guest speaker at the Fulton County Visitor Center will be Katie Rhodes. Katie will introduce “Backcountry Hike 101.” Katie is President of Adirondack Mountain Rescue and Traceless Trainer, NYS Backpacking Guide, and Mountain Athlete. Have you ever wanted to hike the backcountry but didn’t know where to start? Or maybe you are an experienced hiker with specific questions? Topics will include: backcountry safety, emergency / survival equipment and techniques, trip planning, review of recommended equipment and much more.

Something Different Food Truck will be at the Visitor Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

School House Antiques (3678 State Highway 30, Broadalbin) will be celebrating its 21st anniversary in business.

The Broadalbin Hotel (59 West Main St, Broadalbin) has the following vendors: Baucy Be’s Honey Hot Sauce, Historic Hotel Broadalbin, Shultz family farm, Queen Bee Bakery, LoveLee Living, Sharra Cayla Cupcakery, Pomtastics, Mud Road Sugar House, Peterson Farm, LaCasse Crochet, Hooked by Melinda, Wayne Lair Leather, Sunlit Dreams Crystal Jewelry, Take a Breath Wellness Massage, The Ashtree Astrology, Psychic Medium Sandy Streun, Broadalbin Public Library, Upstate Coffee, and Toga Nola. A free fall family photo provided by Local Focus Photography, inflatable obstacle courses, rock face, Air Force football throw and face painting will also be at the Broadalbin Hotel.

Food and craft beer available.

The Wildlife Museum (3747 State Highway 30, Broadalbin) will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Wildlife Museum is an educational institution whose mission is to promote public understanding and appreciation of hunting, fishing and trapping traditions.

An inflatable basketball throw, football kickoff and ax throw will take place at the Great Sacandaga Brewing Company (3647 State Highway 30, Broadalbin). Bethy’s Barkery will be offering dog treats. Mak’s Food Truck will be on site and De-Railed is playing for the day. The Brasserie opens at 11 a.m.

The Adirondack Harley Davidson (106 Bellen Road Broadalbin) will host The Pit Stop Food Truck and the Broadalbin Fire Department will discuss fire safety and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department on snowmobile safety.

Franks Gun Shop (3831 State Highway 30) is open for business and welcomes you with pleasure. Don’t forget to hand them your passport while you shop!

There will be live music throughout the day. Playing at the Visitor Center is Emily Meher (10 am-12pm), Tim Vee (12 pm-2pm) and The Back Porch Pickers (2p-4p) The Broadalbin Hotel will feature JayDay White (10 am-12pm, Juniper (12pm – 2pm) and Anna Wrabel (2pm to 4pm) Jon Blake will be at Adirondack Harley Davidson Great Sacandaga Brewery will host Doc Orloff from 11am to 2pm, and Derailed from 2pm to 5pm

The Outdoor Adventure Day Pass will include an additional list of local restaurants and shops to visit during your stay in Vail Mills and Broadalbin.
