GO GURNEE invites canine companions to walk on September 25 – Shaw Local

GURNEE – On September 25, Hunt Club Park will host a free GO GURNEE Walkin’ and Waggin’ event.

Families are welcome to bring their favorite dog to enjoy a morning walk and wellness event.

Starting at 9 a.m., families and friends will gather on the side lot (next to the Hunt Club Community Center) to walk together along the Hunt Club trail system. Puppies will have plenty of time to play before and after the walk. Dogs present must be well behaved and kept on a leash at all times. While supplies last, free, pet-friendly GO GURNEE gifts will also be available.

No puppy? No problem! You are always invited to come and have a fun morning. Reach Rescue will also be on hand with some adoptable friends. Participants are encouraged to bring pet-friendly donations to support Reach Rescue. This is not limited to, but includes dog toys, paper towels and wet wipes, dog leashes (extra small to large), dog collars (extra small and small), dog treats, dry and wet food for dogs (fish, turkey and lamb). ), gift cards for pet stores, dog beds and new rolled up blankets.

The GO GURNEE movement offers free, non-traditional ways to get the Gurnee community out and about. Teaming up with dog enthusiasts Reach Rescue and Gurnee is exactly that. “Walking is something everyone can do to stay active,” Doyle said.

GO GURNEE Walkin’ and Waggin’s events are recommended for all ages, families and friends, with or without dogs. Can’t attend on September 25? No problem! Hunt Club Park, as well as all parks in the Gurnee Park District are open to the public from sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week.
