Published on August 23, 2022

Adopted superheroes and their canine sidekicks are invited to Huntsville Animal Services at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 27 for a “superhero reunion.” The Superhero Adoption League – people who have answered the call to rescue animals from shelters by providing furry homes for them – will come together for a reunion filled with free activities and treats that are sure to be missing. to wag the tail.

“If you have ever volunteered here, fostered a pet or adopted an animal, come on! said director of animal services, Dr. Karen Sheppard. “You can also bring your furry friends.”

The meeting will include fun and dog-friendly activities, puppy cups for all canine attendees, popsicles for humans, and photo opportunities.

In addition to the reunion activities, Mayor Tommy Battle will cut the ribbon on the newly completed Phase III shelter renovations. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the new section of the shelter after the grand opening.

August 27 will also be the last day to take advantage of the adoption fee waiver for most adult animals at the shelter, so anyone considering adopting a pet is encouraged to attend.

All adoptable pets are vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and come with a municipal license and a complimentary bag of pet food. Those unable to adopt are asked to consider fostering an animal through the shelter’s foster program.
