Rabies vaccination clinic
Mahoning County Public Health will be offering a rabies vaccination clinic for dogs, cats and ferrets from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Angels for Animals, 4750 W. South Range Road, Canfield. In Mahoning County, rabies vaccination is mandatory for all dogs, cats and ferrets over 3 months of age. The cost is $ 8 per rabies vaccine (cash only). Pet owners should have their pets on a leash, in a cage, or carried in a pillowcase. This is a low cost clinic that does not include a physical examination of the animal. Veterinary personnel reserve the right not to vaccinate any animal if it appears to be in poor health. To receive the three-year booster, bring proof of previous rabies vaccination as of November 21, 2020. Without proof of previous vaccination, the animal will only receive one-year vaccination. No appointment is necessary for rabies vaccinations.
Silent Auction Books
The Columbiana Public Library will be holding a silent book auction from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on December 11. This day-only event features beautiful art books, Yellowstone National Park and more. All items are billed individually with the option of “Buy It Now” for a fixed price. Book sets from beloved mystery and mystery authors as well as children’s and Christmas books are also available. Sponsored by Friends of the Columbiana Public Library. All Covid masking and spatial distancing must be respected in the library.
Salem Christmas Parade
Salem Area Chamber of Commerce and Salem News sponsor Salem-themed Christmas Parade “Making spirits bright” at 6.30 p.m. December 2. The parade route will begin at Salem High School to Lincoln in State then Ellsworth, ending on Second Street. Light Up Night will take place on the Lawn of Salem Town Hall immediately following the Christmas Parade. Prizes will be awarded for the best commercial floats, the best religious and the best non-profit floats.
